AFI Set Release Date for First New Album in Three Years

BY Keith CarmanPublished Jul 9, 2009

Did you realize that it's been three long years since punk outfit AFI released their last album?

Probably not but that "opus" Decemberunderground hit store shelves in 2006. Since then, all of the pre-school goth kiddies have been pining for some new material from that hunky Davey Havok and crew.

Well, dry your mascara-clad eyes, the band have reported that they've finally finished their eighth studio effort, Crash Love, with producer Joel McGrath (Morrissey, Alkaline Trio, Blink-182). The album will be released through Interscope Records on September 29.

Says Havok about the album: "After two years of focused writing and recording we have finished Crash Love in its entirety and are thrilled to hear it come to life - personally, I've never been more proud of an AFI record."

As of yet, there's no sign of a tracklisting or a tour supporting Crash Love.
