Aeroplane Reveal Debut Studio Album

BY Maddie LeznoffPublished Aug 19, 2010

Despite some turbulence, things are once again looking up for Balearic-leaning electro project Aeroplane. Half of the European duo (Stephen Fasano) recently announced his departure from the group, but even with the band's Vito De Luca now piloting Aeroplane solo, the project will release their debut full-length, We Can't Fly, this fall.

According to the press release, the record was done with French pop maestro Bertrand Burgalat and was recorded in Toulouse, Paris, London and Los Angeles. Also, it says to get ready for not only thick slabs of disco and '80s electro, but influences such as the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Abba and even Italian crooners.

We Can't Fly features some vocals by De Luca, but most are done by guests on the record, including Au Revoir Simone, Poni Hoax lead singer Nicolas Ker, Jonathan Jeremiah and Sky Ferreira.

We Can't Fly is due out September 27 in the UK via Wall of Sound. However, there's no word of a North American release date just yet. UPDATE: The album will be out in North America via Columbia on October 12.
