Aerogramme's Craig B and Iain Cook Become the Unwinding Hours, Ready Debut Full-Length

Following the release of their 2007 album My Heart Has a Wish That You Would Not Go, epic Scottish rockers Aerogramme called it quits. Now, fortunately for Aerogramme fans, former members Craig B and Iain Cook have teamed up for a new band called the Unwinding Hours.

The duo have recorded their self-titled debut, and plan to release it this spring. According to a press release, the band started as a way for B and Cook to record some songs privately, with no intention of releasing them. As the project developed, the duo's easy pace apparently inspired them to work on a full album of material.

"There were no expectations or deadlines, so it felt like a really enjoyable and relaxed way of trying out new ideas and seeing if they stuck," Cook says.

B adds that, while the pace was relaxed, the album's subject matter is quite heavy, saying, "The main themes throughout the record are of relationships: some ending, some starting, some going well, some going very, very badly."

This particular relationship seems to be going quite well, however, as the Unwinding Hours are already discussing a second album. In the meantime, their self-titled debut will be released by Chemikal Underground on March 16.

The Unwinding Hours:

1. "Knut"

2. "Tightrope"

3. "Little One"

4. "There Are Worse Things Than Being Alone"

5. "Solstice"

6. "Peaceful Liquid Shell"

7. "Child"

8. "Traces"

9. "Annie Jane"

10. "The Final Hour"
