Adventure

Adventure is the brainchild of Benny Boeldt, a former North Carolina boy now holed up in Baltimore’s warehouse crowd. Combining the 8-bit techniques of the chip tune movement with Boeldt’s love of melody and, well, adventure, his Carpark debut is hard not to love. From the fist-pumping start of "Loredo” to the equally danceable "Crypt Castle Cult,” the record offers 11 tracks of sheer dorky bliss with enough diversity to stay interesting. Closer "Jurassic Park City” shows some heart, with its solemn melodies and epic beat, capping off what is most certainly the best videogame soundtrack of all time, minus the videogame.
