Adult Swim Singles Program Ropes In Mastodon, Best Coast, the Rapture

Between the oddball non-sequiturs of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and raunchy action-adventure spoof The Venture Brothers, Cartoon Network's Adult Swim knows a thing or two about animated shows. What you may not realize is that the programming block also has a handle on the music game. From 2005's show-sampling Danger Doom project to free online comps like Metal Swim to offering Odd Future a show of their own, the company has been tight with the music scene for years. Naturally, Adult Swim has just announced a new singles series linking them to some current faves.

The Adult Swim Singles Program runs June 6 to August 21 and will premiere a new, exclusive cut from a band each week. Yesterday (June 6), the program kicked off with a cut from retro electro enthusiasts Ford & Lopatin called "Too Much MIDI (Please Forgive Me)." You can download the "Blue Monday"-riffing club jam here.

Other artists included in this year's run include metal monsters Mastodon, beach-bound poppers Best Coast, recently revived dance punks the Rapture and more. Check out the schedule below.

This is the second year Adult Swim has offered up the singles program. The 2010 edition featured jams from Madvillain, Cults and Washed Out, among others.
