Darren Cunningham recently released R.I.P., his third album under the Actress moniker. To follow that up, he's now revealed a label partnership between his own Werk Discs imprint and Ninja Tune, with the latter helping Werk with UK press and distribution. Their first project together is the release of a new and free Actress song called "Metamorphosis."
The six-and-a-half-minute track is all pounding, blown-out bass drum, eerie synths and distant strings that slowly unfold with a creepy buildup. It's not exactly easy listening, but it definitely suggests more fascinating things to come from Actress.
