The Acorn Announce Canadian Tour

Ottawa-based folksters the Acorn recently released their third album, No Ghost, which we described as a "cheery" step away from 2007's angst-y Glory Hope Mountain. With the band having a new album to promote, we knew that the group were bound to hit the road soon. Sure enough, the Acorn have now booked several festival dates for this summer and planned a more extensive cross-Canada tour this fall.

In addition to already-announced performances at Hillside Festival in Guelph, ON and the Ottawa Folk Festival, the Acorn will be coming to Kingston, ON's Wolfe Island Musicfest. But the bulk of the tour begins in October, starting in Victoria, BC and heading east as far as Sault Ste. Marie, ON. In between, there are shows in such cities as Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

Tour dates:

7/24-25 Guelph, ON - Hillside Festival
8/7 Kingston, ON - Wolfe Island Musicfest
8/13-14 Ottawa, ON - Ottawa Folk Festival
9/15 Halifax, NS - St. Matthew's United Church
10/20 Victoria, BC - Lucky Bar
10/21 Vancouver, BC - Biltmore Cabaret
10/23 Edmonton, AB - Starlite Room
10/24 Calgary, AB - Republik
10/26 Saskatoon, SK - Amigo's
10/27 Winnipeg, MB - Park Theatre
