AC/DC

"Rock or Bust"

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 17, 2014

For the last couple of weeks, seemingly every YouTube clip began with a short advertisement for AC/DC's new album Rock or Bust. Now, fans can hear the full song from that advertisement, as title track has emerged.

The song begins with a crunchy start-stop chord progression. Beyond that, the tune is a punchy, simple three-minute ditty that comes with everything we've come to expect from AC/DC: a steady rock groove with yowling hooks and a couple of twiddly guitar solos. Lyrically, it reminds us that, after all these years — not to mention drummer Phil Rudd's legal woes and guitarist Malcolm Young's tragic dementia — the veteran band still believe in rock music.
