Forever and Beyond

BY Mike AdairPublished Jul 1, 2005

Over a decade old, this project founded by Dirk Steyer has just recently joined the Metropolis team for North American representation. They are a perfect fit for the label, and this industrial release incorporates a ’90s techno influence into a dark, synth-driven sound. The problem is these guys aren’t distinct enough to be memorable, and while disc is good, there’s not much here that stands above the rest of the Metropolis crowd. Tracks like the erotic "One Night” or the made-for-club-play "The Faint” are fine to listen to at first but just don’t stick by the end of the album. DJs looking to bulk up their playlists will definitely get some use out of this release — the tracks are danceable and well mixed. As for the rest of the world, you’ll get by just fine without it.
