AAA Battery

"Jenna"

Eclectic pop journeyman Spookey Ruben recently announced the formation of his new group, AAA Battery, and now the trio — whose middle names all begin with "A," hence the band name — have shared a song from their forthcoming Year of the Woman album.

"Jenna" is a bright pop-rock tune with a jangling '80s sheen and lots of "ooh"-ing and quirky gibbering.

Drummer/guitarist Fred Jeske said of the song in a statement, "This woman has made a decision to change herself for the sake of the realm, trying to change to fit in, but sacrificing herself on the way. She eventually discovers that the prize is not worth the fight! The consumption of this 'poison tea' represents the absorption of the human network's failures and flaws. All she should have done the entire time was to be herself."

Year of the Woman is out on December 3 via Rescord Records, but for now listen to "Jenna" below.
