Published Apr 10, 2013Halifax's AA Wallace previously fronted the indie rock band Sleepless Nights, but for the past three years, he's been making a name for himself in the world of electronic music. This spring, he will finally release his debut full-length with (disambiguation). It's due out on May 7 through Acadian Embassy, and its release will be followed by shows at home and abroad.
The eight-track collection was recorded on a laptop in a bedroom that, ironically, lacked a bed. He reportedly used everything from broken toys to found sound samples, and a press release explains, "The result is a dance inducing nu-disco album about alienation and failure that takes its cues from French house, chillwave and DIY electro."
The philosophical, choppy electro-pop tune "Temporal Suspension" is streaming at the bottom of this page.
See the tracklist below, and scroll past that to check out Wallace's tour schedule, which includes a pair of shows in Atlantic Canada followed by festival gigs in the UK. The album cover is above.
