In the final days of 2018, Apple's wireless AirPods became something of a status symbol when users online jokingly decided that wireless earbuds from a trillion-dollar corporation were a sign of wealth. Now, Toronto AirPod devotees and those still tethered to their devices alike will make a case for their respective sides in public.

On March 30, dreams memes will become reality when both Toronto AirPod owners and those against the white earbuds meet up in the city's Yonge-Dundas Square. An event for a "Toronto AirPod Owners MeetUp" calls the gathering "a celebration of not being a broke bitch" and is even hawking a full-blown merch line for the occasion.

In response, those who prefer a hardwired connection created a "Toronto Anti AirPod Owners MeetUp" that is set to take place the same day, at which attendees will "share our collective disdain for Airpods, and...let Apple Air Pod users know that they ain't shit."

As part of their neverending flex, the pro-AirPod group plans to take in Wu-Tang Clan's "C.R.E.A.M" at the same time through the ability to share in a listening experience. The anti-AirPod group claims, "They got the C.R.E.A.M, we got the SAUCE" in announcing their competing song of choice to be Future and Lil Uzi Vert's "Too Much Sauce."

As of press time, the pro-AirPod event has has well over 1,500 confirmed attendees, while the anti-AirPod event has only 43.
