A Tribe Called Red, the Monkees, Sheepdogs to Headline Vancouver's Fair at the PNE

A huge part of Vancouver's annual Fair at the PNE, in addition to rollercoasters and the whip-smart SuperDogs, is its outdoor concert series. The late summer celebrations are still a few months away, but organizers have announced that the talent for the latter includes A Tribe Called Red, the Sheepdogs and the Monkees, among others.

The newly revealed schedule confirms that the Fair will be holding two weeks' worth of performances at the PNE Amphitheatre as part of its Summer Night Concerts series between August 20 and September 5. Entry to the events is free with admission, save the opening night Kiss Radio Wham Bam with local pop-rock players Hedley.

CanCon fans of all flavours can check out the aforementioned sets from A Tribe Called Red and the Sheepdogs, as well as pop punks Simple Plan, Monster Truck and Great Big Sea guy Alan Doyle.

The Monkees are slated to play September 4 and may well slip some songs from their forthcoming Good Times! in between the classics. Other international acts heading to the Fair include Pat Benatar, Steve Miller Band, Culture Club, Chris Isaak, Olivia Newton-John, and Sisqo's pre-"Thong Song" project Dru Hill.

You'll find the full breakdown for the PNE's Summer Night Concerts down below. A one-day pass is currently priced at $13 online. Tickets at the gate will cost $17, though children under 13 can get in for free. Reserved seating to the shows is also available.
