Earlier this year, Jesse Lauter, Hannah Gold and Josh Kaufman organized a tribute concert in memory of the late Leonard Cohen, featuring performances of the man's music from Okkervil River's Will Sheff, Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo, Holly Miranda and more. Now, the concert will be released as a live album next month.
Sincerely, L. Cohen: A Live Celebration of Leonard Cohen will arrive through Brooklyn label Royal Potato Family on September 21, on what would have been Cohen's 83rd birthday. The record will first arrive digitally, with a limited edition two-LP set arriving November 24.
The announcement comes alongside a recording of Delicate Steve performing Cohen's "Hallelujah," which you can hear in the player below. All proceeds from the record will go to the Preemptive Love Coalition, an organization aiding families and children affected by terrorism in the Middle East.
