A Japanese Producer Remade Kanye West's 'The Life of Pablo' Without Hearing the Original

Though Kanye West's The Life of Pablo ended up getting a wider release to platforms after all, it is only just making it to countries that have no access to TIDAL. The geoblocking prompted Japanese producer TOYOMU to create his own alternative without hearing the original release.

Sourcing samples from WhoSampled and lyrics from Genius, Imagining "The Life of Pablo" sounds nothing like Kanye's original record. Familiar samples surface every now and again while Kanye's lyrics are read by a text-to-speech program, making TOMOYU's creation a work entirely its own.

"Subscription services in Japan are too slow, most people are still using iTunes and buying CDs. I thought it might be a good idea to make the whole album without listening to it," the producer told Pigeons and Planes.
