90 Day Men

Panda Park

BY Rob NayPublished Feb 1, 2004

Following their last record, To Everybody, 90 Day Men’s latest disc continues the band’s course of composing refined, avant-pop. Panda Park shows the band’s solid ability to craft orchestral melodies, driven by Andy Lansangan’s intricate keyboards. On a couple of songs, the pitched vocals threaten to drown out the arrangements and they require repeated listenings to adapt to. For the most part, however, Panda Park contains sophisticated, absorbing songs, sporadically resembling Rachel’s with greater pop leanings.
