Prolific Canadian songwriter Michael Feuerstack is recognized and revered by his musical colleagues for his work with a number of different projects, including his solo work as Snailhouse. Having retired that particular name in 2012, his set to the small yet appreciative afternoon crowd was largely built of material written and released under his own name. Drawing from his latest acclaimed effort, The Forgettable Truth, Feuerstack showcased his introspective songwriting chops early on with "Lamplight," the gentle "Glacier Love" and "I Wanted More."

Feuerstack's backing band proved more than capable in navigating his diverse setlist, from the airy "Monrovia" to the edgier drive of "The Devil." Taking a moment to go solo, the band left Feuerstack alone onstage to perform "Trees," a soft fingerpicked ode to the waning summer season. A stripped-back version of the slow, contemplative "Scorekeeper" was also a highlight, given new flavour with echoing snare hits and smooth accompaniment from Amato's French horn.
