50 Cent’s Before I Self-Destruct Pushed to Next Year

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 18, 2008

Despite many promised albums, the end of 2008 has not shaped up to be the hip-hop season we were expecting thanks to major labels and their shifty release dates. Now another album, 50 Cent’s Before I Self-Destruct, has been added to the fold. The album, which was due in stores on December 7, will now come out in early 2009.

But it might prove worth the wait, as Pitchforkrecently reported that the album will now come bundled with two DVDs, the Jam Master Jay documentary Two Turntables and a Microphone: The Life and Times of Jam Master Jay, and the movie version of Before I Self-Destruct. That’s right, not only is Self-Destruct an album but it’s also a movie written, directed by and starring Fiddy. The film follows the life of an aspiring basketball player who ditches his dreams for a life of crime to take care of his family.

In the meantime, the album’s Scott Storch-produced single "Get Up” is now floating around the internet, like down below, for instance.
