3 Inches of Blood Put Out Open Call for Bassist, Complete New Album

Do you love metal, touring, beer and orc-slaying anthems? If so, Vancouver metal tyrants 3 Inches of Blood might have an opening for you. The band are currently on the look out for a bass player.

The prerequisites are pretty simple, as the band states: "You must be a Canadian citizen. You must have no criminal record of any kind. You must have a valid passport. Touring experience is definitely an asset. We are a career band, so leave your egos and childish fantasies at home... If you love playing heavy metal, have the skill, your own gear and are 100% serious, then contact us through our Myspace page at www.myspace.com/3iob or email us at threeinchesofblood@hotmail.com."

And if there's any time to join the ranks of 3IOB, now is the time. According to a press release, the band have just wrapped up production on their fourth full-length album. Epically titled Here Waits Thy Doom, the record was recorded with Seattle legend Jack Endino.

About the new record, guitarist Shane Clark says, "Much like our last record it is a step beyond the album that precedes it. We've again taken what we do a step further and not made Fire up the Blades part 2, we've stuck to our formula - no formula. We are true metal fans and we've made an unapologetic metal record. I think this our most focused record to date, from writing all the way to mixing there was no unnecessary drama or too many cooks in the kitchen. This is 3 Inches of Blood at its most punishing, epic and mighty."

As we previously reported, the band have cut a deal with Century Media, and the new album is expected out this fall. The band have also recently explored the Marvel universe, with a name-drop in a recent Punisher comic. To see the Punisher take down a bad guy with "the dark powers of dungeon metal", click here.
