36 Crazyfists

The Tide and Its Takers

BY Andrea DyerPublished May 20, 2008

With the album’s premature leaks and initial release in the UK, fans of 36 Crazyfists have been waiting on The Tide and Its Takers, and thankfully won’t be disappointed. "The Back Harlow Road” is outrageously heavy and sits nicely in the belly of this band’s sophomore endeavour, while "Absent Are the Saints” features some bludgeoning breakdowns. And to roll the whole collection of songs out, The Tide and Its Takers serves up some serene acoustics that are damn near haunting. The band haven’t ditched their original essence and instead have tweaked it to become a total package of aggressive decadence.
