2 Chainz Working with Kanye West for Def Jam Debut

Apparently ditching the hilarious moniker Tity Boi has paid off, as Atlanta-based rapper 2 Chainz is most likely looking at some mainstream success down the road. Earlier this week, the rapper revealed that he had signed a solo deal with Def Jam, and now he's tapped some A-list rappers for his label debut.

Previously signed to Ludacris's Disturbing Tha Peace label, 2 Chainz explained that the two have remained friends while he transitions to a bigger deal.

"I'm actually behind [Ludacris], he's still my homie," 2 Chainz told XXL. "I just took another route as far as running my own company and bossing up. But on the other hand, I'm still working with him."

Aside from work with Ludacris, 2 Chainz is also teaming up with Kanye West for some production work on the new record. He recently told MTV [via MissInfo], "One thing that people may not know is that I've been working with Kanye West for the past year. We have records together, we have ideas that we're planning on releasing to the world real soon. I'm tryna get my 'N in Paris' swag up."

Here's hoping 2 Chainz' Def Jam debut doesn't fall prey to the typical delays characteristic of major rap releases, as it's quickly shaping up to be one of the year's most anticipated releases.
