Last year, annoying mobile game turned Walmart t-shirt icon Angry Birds finally had its chance on the silver screen with the arrival of The Angry Birds Movie. The film was not very good, but its pop cultural moment still inspired a handful of people to dress up like the characters for Halloween. One Toronto man took his Angry Bird persona a little too seriously, and beat someone unconscious when they commented on his outfit.
As Global News reports, police are still searching for the seriously angry bird after he beat an American man unconscious on October 30 around 2:30 a.m.
The 24-year-old American man was walking around the Queen Street West and Peter Street area with some friends when they crossed paths with the costumed man. The American made a "harmless comment" about the man's costume when all hell broke loose.
The costumed man suddenly started assaulting the 24-year-old, beating him unconscious. He continued to punch and kick the man while he was on the ground. While the attack wasn't life threatening, the man is still recovering from head injuries.
Since the victim was unconscious and the suspect was wearing an Angry Birds costume, there's not much of a description for the alleged assailant. Police have just said that the man was between 5'10" and 6' tall.
