Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 PSP / PS3
With American politicians ramping up their illegal immigration rhetoric, a Mexican civil war and its potential impact on the U.S. is a fertile starting point for the latest Tom Clancy near-future war game. Of course, this isn’t just any military title — GRAW2 is the sequel to the 360’s first real breakout game, a favourite amongst the hardcore gamer community and a graphics landmark (at least for its first few months, anyway). Not surprisingly, aside from some modest artificial intelligence improvements and prettier explosions, this sequel doesn’t do much to mess with its successful squad-shooter formula. Set the day after the original — in which our own Canadian Prime Minister bit the bullet in protest of a North America-wide defence initiative — America is now dead-set on stopping a Mexican insurgency (whether Mexico wants them to or not). Which is where your team of Ghost Recon soldiers step in, with 72 hours to stop the rebels before they can detonate their newly acquired nukes. Of course, the relatively short single-player game will quickly take a backseat to the co-op and competitive multiplayer, which will no doubt dominate Xbox Live for the next few months. (Ubisoft)
