To help boost the upcoming Mirror's Edge Catalyst videogame, Scottish band Chvrches have uploaded a new tune sung from the perspective of main character, Faith. You'll hear Lauren Mayberry channelling the adventure series figure in the uplifting and anthemic "Warning Call."
The song fits in with the general sparkling electro-pop punch of Chvrches, with a series of '80s keys gelling around a one-two drum machine beat and Mayberry's optimistic cries. As Faith, she sings of holding on for a better tomorrow, dealing with adversity, and looking for a light through the darkness.
"We were honored to be asked to contribute to the soundtrack for Mirror's Edge Catalyst," the group's Iain Cook said in a statement. "The sound of Chvrches' music resonates with the minimalist sci-fi dystopia of the Mirror's Edge world, and we feel that the song complements the drama, emotion and empowering themes of Faith's story."
You can hear Chvrches new tune below, while the videogame gets a North American release on June 7.
