The trailer is out there. With The X-Files set to return in January of 2016, Fox has rolled out a two-part teaser for the new series of the extraterrestrial mystery show.
These short promo clips don't give away too much in terms of plot, but they do show David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. There's lots of drama, intrigue and, er, smart phones. We also see Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner and a brief appearance from William B. Davis as the Smoking Man. If you watch closely, you might even catch what appears to be a quick shot of Joel McHale in his new role as conservative news anchor Tad O'Malley.
The new six-episode miniseries of The X-Files will premiere on January 24 on Fox.
