WTF: They're Making a 'Surf's Up' Sequel with WWE Wrestlers

People love crossovers, and there's no denying that brand synergy works. But this just might be the weirdest mash-up we've ever heard of: A sequel to the 2007 penguin movie Surf's Up is in the works, and it'll feature WWE wrestlers.

Sure, Surf's Up was already plenty weird in that it followed a group of penguins competing as surfers in a tropical paradise. Now, however, the characters will somehow be combined with some of the ring's fiercest fighters.

The movie is called Surf's Up 2: WaveMania, and we don't really have any idea what the fuck is going on with it.

The best we can tell you is that it'll feature the likes of John Cena, Triple H, Paige, The Undertaker and Vince McMahon. That confusing as hell promo image up top doesn't really add much to the explanation.

Fortunately, in an effort to help us figure out what this strange movie could possibly be about, Sony Pictures have offered up the following synopsis:

Cody Maverick, hungry for a new challenge, convinces an infamous big wave riding crew known as The Hang 5, voiced by WWE Superstars John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H, WWE Diva Paige and Vince McMahon, to let him join them on their journey to a mysterious surf spot known as The Trenches, where legend has it, they'll find the biggest waves in the world. Cody soon discovers that the life he left behind might be more heroic than what any death-defying wave has to offer.

Check out a few character images from this baffling monstrosity below, and be sure to catch it when it comes out in 2017.
