Will Smith Reunites with His 'Fresh Prince of Bel Air' Family

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 28, 2017

We all know the story all about how his life got flipped, turned upside down and a young Will Smith became the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, starring on the hit comedy from 1990 to 1996. But it seems the Banks family story got a brief IRL epilogue yesterday (March 27).

Smith's co-star Alfonso Ribeiro (known best for his role on the show as Will's dancing cousin Carlton) shared a photo of the reunited cast via Instagram.

"Always amazing to spend an afternoon with my Fresh Prince family," he wrote in the caption. "Wishing that James Avery was still with us to make this complete," he added, referencing the late actor who portrayed the family's patriarch, Uncle Phil. Avery passed away in 2013 at the age of 68.

Present with Smith and Ribeiro for the reunion were Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Daphne Reid and Joseph Marcell — who played Ashley, Hilary, Aunt Vivian (well, after Janet Hubert originated the role, anyways) and beloved butler, Geoffrey, respectively.

Check out the photographic evidence of the cast reunion below.

The friendly gathering isn't likely to spawn any sort of Fresh Prince reboot, though. Despite rumours in 2015, Smith told E! News last year that a revival would happen "pretty close to when hell freezes over."
