Following a less-than successful attempt at adapting a foreign film with Downhill, Will Ferrell's next move will be a remake of a podcast. He'll star in The Shrink Next Door with his former Anchorman buddy Paul Rudd.
The show does not have a network attached just yet, but it will be shopped to premium cable networks like HBO alongside streaming services when it's complete.
The show is being directed and executive produced by Michael Showalter, who previously worked with Rudd on Wet Hot American Summer.
Released in 2019, The Shrink Next Door podcast portrayed the strange, real-life relationship between a psychiatrist and his neighbour. Rudd is set to play the shrink, while Ferrell will play the neighbour.
Stay tuned for more information on this project as it becomes available.
