The forthcoming Star Wars documentary on Disney+, Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, is set to be released on May 4, and now, the doc's official trailer has arrived, revealing snippets of behind-the-scenes action on the set of The Mandalorian.

In addition to unseen footage, cool set specs and roundtable interviews, the trailer has revealed an adorable tidbit: Werner Herzog's funny relationship with Baby Yoda saw the filmmaker actually directing the nonsentient puppet as if it were real.

In the trailer, series director Deborah Chow relives one of the weirder moments on set, recalling the time she saw Werner speaking directly to the Baby Yoda prop.

"It was one of the weirdest and best things that happened with Werner," Chow said. "He was acting against the baby and he started directing the baby directly. I'm trying to direct Werner who's now directing the puppet. He would tell us we need to commit to the magic."

Herzog, who expressed his "heartbreaking" relationship with Baby Yoda last fall, plays the Client in the series. The Mandalorian will return with Season 2 in October, and has just been renewed for an additional season scheduled for sometime in the future.

Watch Chow recall her strange memory of Herzog in the trailer below.
