Werner Herzog has never seen any Star Wars, and he sure as hell isn't going to start now. That said, even he can't help but be moved by his adorable co-star baby Yoda in The Mandalorian.
Before you nerds have a conniption — yes, we know it's not actually baby Yoda. But the tiny Jedi master that has warmed the cockles of our collective hearts even managed to break through Herzog's seemingly serious veneer.
Speaking with Variety, Herzog admitted that he couldn't help but tear up by the adorable lil dude.
"I saw two technicians operating it remotely," he said. "One was for the eyes and the mouth, and the other one was for other facial expressions. It's a phenomenal technical achievement and beyond the technological achievement, it's heartbreaking… On the set, it looked absolutely convincing. It made you cry when you saw it."
