Following a ton of rumours, it's been officially revealed that we're getting a new Dirty Dancing movie.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer confirmed the news today, Deadline reports, revealing Jennifer Grey will star and executive produce the film.

Of course, Grey starred in the 1987 original alongside Patrick Swayze. The new Dirty Dancing film will be helmed by Warm Bodies director Jonathan Levine.

"It will be exactly the kind of romantic, nostalgic movie that the franchise's fans have been waiting for and that have made it the biggest-selling library title in the Company's history," said Feltheimer during Lionsgate's earnings call today.

The first Dirty Dancing film was a global box office hit, raking in an impressive $218 million USD at the global box office. In 2004, a prequel film was released called Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, while a TV musical remake also arrived in 2015.

So far, it's unclear when the new Dirty Dancing movie will arrive, so stay tuned.
