The Late Show host Stephen Colbert recently went on a trip to New Zealand, and in addition to spending time with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, he managed to visit Lorde and give her a fright.
After riffing on "Carpool Karaoke" and sitting down for a proper interview, the prime minister and Colbert head outside for a barbecue with fellow New Zealander Lorde.
The TV host manages to trick Lorde into opening a can of "peanut brittle" that's actually filled with a pop-out snake. It's particularly jump-inducing, given New Zealand's proud claim of having no snakes in the country.
