Last year, we learned that Mahershala Ali would be starring in the third season of HBO's True Detective, and now the first trailer has arrived.
Ali plays Arkansas detective Wayne Hays, and the new trailer shows him thinking through a long-running case.
The new season also features performances by Mamie Gummer, Stephen Dorff, Scoot McNairy and Carmen Ejogo. All episodes will be written by creator and showrunner Nic Pizzolatto, who will also direct alongside Green Room filmmaker Jeremy Saulnier.
