As it closes out a strong 2023 that churned out some of Exclaim!'s favourite movies of the year in Dream Scenario, The Zone of Interest and The Iron Claw, A24 is already teasing its next slate of films.
The studio behind indie hits like Moonlight and Lady Bird shared the trailer for the dystopian Civil War last week, and is now following it up with a first look at the Kristen Stewart-led thriller Love Lies Bleeding.
Set in rural US, the trailer begins with an FBI agent attempting to persuade Stewart's character to inform on her criminal father (Ed Harris). It then begins to explore the romantic aspect of the film, as she meets and falls for a bodybuilder played by The Mandalorian's Katy O'Brian, who quickly becomes tangled up in the shady business run by Harris's character.
Directed by Rose Glass, the film also features Dave Franco, Jena Malone and Anna Baryshnikov in supporting roles. It's due to premiere on January 20 at the Sundance Film Festival ahead of its theatre debut on March 8.
