Watch David Lynch Interrogate a Monkey in His New Netflix Short Film

It's David Lynch's 74th birthday today, and you can celebrate it along with him by watching his new Netflix short "What Did Jack Do?" After all, what better way is there to celebrate a b-day than by watching a grown man interrogate a monkey in a suit.

Taking a page straight out of Lynch's classic Eraserhead, the newly uploaded black-and-white short "What Did Jack Do?" features Lynch playing a detective in search of a murderer. This leads him to Jack — who happens to be a little monkey in a suit who's also gained the ability of speech.

In explaining the film, Netflix's synopsis simply states: "In a locked down train station, a homicide detective conducts an interview with a tormented monkey."

In other words, it's very Lynch.

While "What Did Jack Do?" just hit Netflix today, the short actually first premiered back in 2017 at a Paris film festival. It later aired at another in New York, but this is the first time the short has been widely available to watch.
