While Veep may be no more, creator Armando Iannucci is luckily giving us a new show to satisfy all our high-brow comedy desires. This one is called Avenue 5, and it will star Hugh Laurie and Josh Gad. To get us going, we now have both the new show's premiere date and trailer.
Avenue 5 will arrive on HBO on January 19. Created and co-written by Iannucci, the comedy is set 40 years in the future, when apparently we're all going through some sort of space tourism boom.
Besides Laurie and Gad, Avenue 5 includes Rebecca Front, Suzy Nakamura, Lenora Crichlow, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ethan Phillips and Zach Woods.
The series is written by Iannucci, Simon Blackwell and Tony Roche, with Iannucci penning its original story.
