The lines between politics, reality television and everything that's good in this world have been irrevocably blurred thanks to businessman and The Apprentice star Donald Trump getting voted in as U.S. president. The move has caused action-star-turned-California-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to step into the role of hosting The New Celebrity Apprentice. Everything is so confusing.
The latest series premiered earlier this week, with Schwarzenegger debuting a handful of cringe-worthy new catchphrases, but it's not the use of "You're terminated" that's pissing off the president-elect.
Trump, who still serves as an executive producer on the show, took to Twitter this morning (January 6) to voice his discontent with the ratings slide suffered by the show in his onscreen absence.
Now, Schwarzenegger has responded to Trump's tweets with a few slightly more diplomatic 140-character messages of his own.
Then, he finished his response with an inspirational throwback to good old Abe Lincoln.
We're guessing Lincoln never could have predicted that his words would be used in a Schwarzenegger-Trump tweet-off, but apparently that's the world in 2017 for you.
Trump officially takes office on January 20, but not before Barack Obama throws a star-studded farewell bash tonight (January 6).

Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got "swamped" (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT. So much for....

being a movie star-and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1. But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary

I wish you the best of luck and I hope you'll work for ALL of the American people as aggressively as you worked for your ratings.

Please study this quote from Lincoln's inaugural, @realDonaldTrump. It inspired me every day I was Governor, and I hope it inspires you. pic.twitter.com/QRoOFTZfQ9
