'True Detective' Might Get a Third Season

'Deadwood' creator David Milch has signed on to help

It might be time to start making True Detective memes once more, as the HBO anthology series is probably coming back.

Despite rumours that it was cancelled last year, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that creator Nic Pizzolatto is working on a third season of the show, having already penned a handful of episodes.

While HBO would neither confirm nor deny the news, Pizzolatto is reportedly working with Deadwood creator David Milch on the third instalment of the series.

Getting some outside help is not a bad idea. The show's first season was considered a masterpiece by many, but its reputation was quickly sullied by the confusing and ultimately frustrating second batch of episodes.

Here's hoping Pizzolatto can turn the series around with the help of Milch.
