Tony Hawk Is Making a Movie About Middle-Aged Skateboarders

Legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk hasn't made a decent videogame in a long time, but he's still putting his knowledge of the sport to good use. Hawk has signed on to executive produce a new film called Back to the Grind.

In addition to his role as executive producer, Variety reports that Hawk will script and serve as technical advisor on the film, which is being produced with Branded Pictures Entertainment.

"I'm excited to be part of this project, which comes at a time when skateboarding culture is so widely recognized across many generations," Hawk said. "Back to the Grind be a fun, entertaining story that can enhance skateboarding's growing popularity."

The film will star five middle-aged men who reunite their skate team in order to save their local skate park from being overrun by obnoxious young skaters. Along the way, they attempt to relive their glory days.
