Tommy Lee Jones Joins Matt Damon in 'Bourne' Sequel

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jul 28, 2015

Matt Damon is set to return to the Bourne franchise, currently at work on a fifth film in the series with director Paul Greengrass (who's co-writing with Christopher Rouse). The film doesn't yet have a title (and we'd like to add that Bourne Again is a better option than Still Bourne), but a handful of exciting details have emerged.

Namely, Damon's got a new co-star in one Tommy Lee Jones. The veteran actor has been confirmed as part of the cast via a new Variety article.

It's expected that Jones will play an officer at the CIA. The film will begin production later this summer, with an expected release date of July 29, 2016.

In addition to Jones and Damon, Alicia Vikander is expected to join the cast, along with returning actress Julia Stiles.

Stay tuned for more information on the next Bourne film as it becomes available.
