Published Jul 28, 2015Comedian Tig Notaro recently had the worst year of her life thanks to a freak accident that resulted in the death of her mother, a nasty break-up, a bout of breast cancer and another rare disease. Coming out the other side of these tough times, she's managed to come out on top as a beloved stand-up and the subject of a new documentary. The story doesn't end there, however, as Notaro's now turning her life story into an Amazon TV series.
As The Hollywood Reporter has revealed, Notaro will co-write a new series with Diablo Cody (Juno, Young Adult) that will loosely follow her life story. They'll also executive produce the series alongside Louis C.K., who will produce under his Pig Newton banner. Famously, C.K. also released Notaro's now-viral Live album as a digital download through his website.
The yet-to-be-titled program was initially intended for FX, who ordered a script, but it's since been picked up by Amazon for a pilot order. Neither Amazon nor FX would respond to THR's request for comment.
Stay tuned for more information on Tig Notaro's comedy series as it becomes available.
