There Are Currently Two Uber Movies in the Works
Not to be outdone by The Angry Birds Movie or next year's absolutely ridiculous emoji movie, Hollywood studios continue to pull dubious ideas from your smart phone's app store. Up next, there are not one but two Uber movies in the works.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Universal and Fox have just pushed through movies about the popular (and controversial) ride-sharing service. And perhaps it's because there's only so much you can do from a car, but they've both got strangely similar plots.

Universal just dropped a chunk of change on a yet-to-be-titled Will Ferrell vehicle which will see him driving an Uber for a passenger who happens to be a deranged, escaped convict. The movie is being written by Brendan O'Brien (Neighbors) and will be produced by Adam McKay.

On the other side of the law, Fox's Uber movie is called Stuber, and sees its Uber driver work with a grizzled cop who is working on the toughest case of his career. The movie doesn't have any talent attached yet, but its being produced by Jonathan M. Goldstein and John Francis Daley.

According to THR, neither film company knew about each other's projects when they were bidding on them. Either way, it looks like Hollywood is about to have crazy Uber fever. You know what? You can just let us off here.
