The Trailer for Michael Keaton and Laura Dern's McDonald's Movie Is Finally Here

BY Josiah HughesPublished Apr 21, 2016

We've known about Laura Dern and Michael Keaton's potential McDonald's biopic for a full year, and now the fast food flick called The Founder is finally dishing out a treat with a brand new trailer.

Before we discuss what The Founder is, let's clarify what it's not. The film's not a Ronald McDonald origin story, nor is it a gritty crime drama about the Hamburglar.

It's not a fictionalized version of Super Size Me. And at no point in the trailer do we hear a record needle scratch as Michael Keaton slyly stares into the camera and says, "Would you like fries with that?"

Now that we've got that out of the way, we can discuss what the movie is — it's a biopic that follows the life of Ray Kroc, the man who took one burg-flippin' fast food restaurant and franchised it around the world.

The dialogue is a little, well, cheesy, and some lines will surely make you Grimace ("McDonald's can be the new American church, and it ain't just open on Sundays boys). Either way, people who love movies about corporate backstabbing will get a kick out of this.

The Founder was directed by The Blindside's John Lee Hancock. Watch its first trailer below.
