'The Simpsons' Totally Predicted Lady Gaga's Super Bowl Halftime Show 5 Years Ago

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Feb 6, 2017

The Simpsons has yet again blown the Internet's mind with an eerie coincidence. The long-running cartoon has predicted everything from an Alvin & the Chipmunks vs. Star Wars face-off to Tycho's album artwork, and it has once again demonstrated its foresight well in advance of last night's (February 5) Super Bowl halftime show.

Lady Gaga performed during the huge football game — and it looked spookily similar to a concert experience previously depicted on The Simpsons back in 2012. In the episode titled "Lisa Goes Gaga," the performer can be seen flying through the air over her fans, wearing a shiny, silvery get-up and knee-high boots, just as the real Gaga did during the 2017 halftime show.

But it's not just the outrageous acrobatics and wardrobe choices that strike a familiar chord. In another episode, a cowboy hat constellation — much like the one that appears on the cover of Gaga's latest album Joanne — forms in the stars, hovering high above a giant football stadium.

See a couple comparison shots below.

The similarities have also been compiled into a video by the folks at The Independent. Watch that below.
