The Simpsons has once again predicted the future. Nearly 21 years ago, the series aired an episode titled "Bart to the Future" (Season 11, Episode 17), where Bart dreams that Lisa becomes the first "straight" female President of the United States and dons an outfit almost identical to the purple one VP Kamala Harris wore yesterday (January 20) to the inauguration ceremony at the Capitol.
The episode happens to also exist in a world where Donald Trump was the most recent president and had caused a budget crisis that Lisa inherits. It also appears that The Simpsons predicted Tom Hanks' hosting appearance at the virtual inauguration parade, which aired last night.
