Anyone who's ever watched Gilmore Girls knows that Rory and Lorelai have an incurable coffee dependency, and that Luke Danes is their primary enabler.

Well, the Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life reboot finally arrived over the weekend, and Canadian fans with a keen eye seem to have figured out the magic behind the delicious coffee at Luke's Diner. It seems the secret to his tasty brew comes to Stars Hollow by way of Canadian hero and donut hocker Tim Horton.

As pointed out by Buzzfeed, a bag of Tim Hortons coffee can be seen right under Luke's famous "no cell phones" sign in the "Winter" episode.

And it's not just for show, either; the dude can be seen scooping the Canadian grinds into the machine at one point during "Fall."

It's not the show's only connection to Canada. The original pilot was filmed in Markham, ON's Unionville neighbourhood, and some of the show's most beloved characters are played by Canadians — Yanic Truesdale (Michel) and David Sutcliffe (Christopher) hail from Montreal and Saskatoon, respectively, while homegrown musical talents like Sebastian Bach of Skid Row and Paul Anka (the human, not the dog) both make recurring appearances.
