The 'Peanuts' Holiday Specials Will Air on TV After All

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 18, 2020

Last month, for the first time in 54 years, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown did not air on broadcast TV. It was thanks to a new deal with Apple TV+, and people were absolutely pissed. Rather than ruin American Thanksgiving and Christmas as well, Apple has now allowed for two other specials to air on television.

As Deadline reports, the specials will air without ads on PBS and PBS Kids. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will air on November 22 and A Charlie Brown Christmas will air on December 13.

If you'd prefer to watch it on a streaming service, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will start streaming on Apple TV+ on November 18 and A Charlie Brown Christmas will start streaming on December 4. The specials will each be free to view without a membership from November 25 to 27 and December 11 to 13, respectively.

Apple TV+ is currently working on new Peanuts specials revolving around Mother's Day, Earth Day and New Year's Eve, as well as a back to school special. This is all in addition to Snoopy in Space, which is currently being prepped for a second season.
