The Horniest Songs of Netflix's 'Bridgerton' Explode in Streaming Charts

BY Allie GregoryPublished Jan 22, 2021

Netflix's new horny period drama Bridgerton was recently renewed for a second season, and it's not hard to understand why, when the show panders to some pretty graphic sexual (and sometimes problematic) fantasies, while all of the main cast members are undeniably smokin' hot.

Part of the show's draw is paring up its raunchier scenes with sensual, prancy new music. Bridgerton, which is produced by Shonda Rhimes and is based on a series of novels from Julia Quinn, went super-viral earlier this month for its dramatic use of an orchestral reimagining of Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams" to score a bang-a-thon in Episode 6.

Also among other crowd favourites is "The End" by a relatively unheard artist named JPOLND (a.k.a. Jessica Vaughn). The song proved to be so, uh... inspiring, that it has since exploded on streaming charts, racking up over a million streams on Spotify in less than a month, according to BuzzFeed News.

By contrast, JPOLND's other Spotify uploads are more in the range of tens of thousands, compared to "The End," which has entered Canada's Shazam "Discovery" chart Top 10.

"I wrote the song not thinking about film/TV, but about an ex of mine," Vaughn told BuzzFeed News. "Just exploring the idea of 'If I'm going down, so are you.' I think I was a bottle of Chardonnay deep with my buddy Jeff Plate, just hanging out and having fun."

"It has been completely unexpected and very flattering," Vaughn added. "I love when others can connect with a piece of music."

Well, they sure are "connecting," but perhaps not in the way Vaughn is talking about.

Listen to the song in question below, if that's your sort of thing.

Bridgerton is reportedly on pace to hit 63 million viewers in its first 28 days. The second season is likely to follow The Viscount Who Loves Me, which is the second book in the novel series.
