The Future Is Back: New DeLorean Cars Coming in 2017

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 27, 2016

Thanks to those weird Segway/skateboard things in rap videos, we've already got the closest thing to hoverboards. Now, Back to the Future will come true in more ways as the DeLorean car is going back into production.

In a new interview with Click2Houston [via Screen Rant], Stephen Wynne revealed that he's bringing back the DeLorean Motor Company thanks to a new "Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act."

The act means that Wynne is allowed to build a small number of DeLoreans in his factory in Humble, Texas. He expects to build 300 cars using the DeLorean parts he already has.

Wynne was already refurbishing DeLoreans and selling them for $45,000 to $55,000, but it's expected that the new cars will hover around the $100,000 mark.

The first brand new DeLorean is expected to hit the streets in 2017.
