Once again, there's drama surrounding The Batman. This time, it's due to its HBO TV spinoff losing its showrunner, Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Winter has bailed on the project, which he was initially set to write and serve as showrunner. Apparently, it's due to what's being called "creative differences" between Winter and director Matt Reeves, who is doing the actual The Batman film.

Now, Reeves and the producers are looking for a new showrunner to helm the show, according to THR.

As previously reported, the spinoff series for HBO Max was set to focus on the Gotham City police department, with the series set in the same world Reeves is crafting for The Batman film. It's unclear at this point if any of the film's stars such as Robert Pattinson will appear on the show.

At this point, The Batman is slated for a theatrical bow on March 4, 2022.
